🏫 About DoveLingua 6
What exactly is DoveLingua?

DoveLingua is a professional English learning academy founded in Mozambique in April 2026. It is a structured, communicative English course — not explanation sessions. DoveLingua offers a complete programme from Pre-A1 to C1, with defined levels, clear goals, formal assessments and certificates for students who complete each level.

Is DoveLingua officially registered with the government?

DoveLingua is not yet formally registered as a government-accredited institution. It operates transparently as a professional English academy founded by a qualified teacher. Government registration and accreditation is a clear goal in DoveLingua's roadmap — it is where this institution is heading.

Where is DoveLingua based? Can I study from anywhere?

DoveLingua was founded in Mozambique. In-person lessons are held in Maxixe city, Inhambane Province. Online lessons are available to anyone in Mozambique and worldwide — all you need is a phone, tablet or computer with internet.

What are DoveLingua's vision and future plans?

DoveLingua's vision is to become a formally registered, respected English language institution in Mozambique — with a physical location, government-accredited certificates and a reputation for producing confident, fluent English speakers ready for academic, professional and international opportunities.

What makes DoveLingua different from other English classes?

Many English classes in Mozambique have no structure, no levels, no defined goals and no formal recognition. DoveLingua is built differently — it has a complete, documented curriculum: a syllabus for every level, a lesson topic distribution (plano analítico) showing exactly what is taught in every single lesson, a level evaluation checklist and an official curriculum development record. We can show all of it. That transparency is our credibility.

What is DoveLingua's teaching philosophy?

DoveLingua follows the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach — the most respected methodology in modern English education. The founding principle is simple: grammar is the tool, communication is the goal. Students do not study grammar for its own sake — they use it to say something real. Every lesson has a communicative purpose.

📚 Programme & Levels 9
How many levels does DoveLingua have?

DoveLingua has 7 levels: Level 0 (Pre-A1 — First Steps), Level 1 (A1 — Beginner), Level 2 (A2 — Elementary), Level 3 (A2+ — Pre-Intermediate), Level 4 (B1 — Intermediate), Level 5 (B2 — Upper Intermediate) and Level 6 (C1 — Advanced). All levels are aligned with the international CEFR standard.

What is the CEFR and why does DoveLingua use it?

The CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is the international standard used by universities, employers, governments and language institutions worldwide to describe English ability. DoveLingua uses it for one reason: honesty. When a student completes B1 at DoveLingua, that label means the same thing in London, Lisbon, Johannesburg or anywhere else in the world.

What is Level 0 — First Steps? Is it free?

Level 0 is a 3-week welcome programme designed for absolute beginners. Its purpose is to remove fear, build confidence and give students their very first real English communication experience. It is completely free and automatically included for every student who enrols in Level 1.

How do I know which level is right for me?

If you are unsure of your level, contact our support team to take a free Level Placement Test. You will be placed in the correct level before enrolment.

📧 Contact us to book your test
Which levels are currently open for enrolment?

Currently Level 1 (A1 — Beginner) and Level 2 (A2 — Elementary) are open for enrolment. Higher levels will open progressively.

Can I skip a level if I already know some English?

Yes — that is exactly what the Level Placement Test is for. Contact our support team before enrolling and we will assess the appropriate starting point for you.

How does a student progress from one level to the next?

Students progress by passing the final level exam — not simply by attending lessons. Each level also includes unit tests after every two units.

How long does the full programme take?

The full programme takes approximately 20 months, with 308 lessons and 460–616 contact hours. This is consistent with internationally recognised institutions such as the British Council and Cambridge English.

Why does each level take weeks instead of days?

Language is not memorisation — it is rewiring how the brain processes communication. Anyone promising fluency in three months cannot show you a syllabus, a lesson plan or a curriculum record. DoveLingua can show all of it.

🎓 Lessons & Learning 8
Do lessons take place on WhatsApp?

No. Lessons do not take place on WhatsApp or any messaging application. All lessons are delivered through DoveLingua Classroom at classroom.dovelingua.com.

How long is each lesson?

Each DoveLingua lesson runs for 90 to 120 minutes. This is deliberate — real communication practice cannot happen in 45 minutes.

How many lessons per week?

Online students attend 3 lessons per week. In-person students attend 5 lessons per week. The schedule is communicated after enrolment confirmation.

What are the lessons like — what happens in a DoveLingua lesson?

Every lesson follows three stages: Encounter, Practice, and Real Use. Every lesson ends with something you can do in English that you could not do when it started.

Are lessons available online and in-person?

Yes. Online lessons are available from anywhere worldwide. In-person lessons take place in Maxixe city, Inhambane Province, Mozambique.

Before each lesson, do students know what they will learn?

Yes. Every student has the right to receive a clear presentation of what will be learned at the beginning of each lesson.

Are student grades and progress saved anywhere?

Yes. All student records, grades and exam results are saved on the DoveLingua Classroom platform.

What equipment do I need to attend online lessons?

You need a phone, tablet or computer with internet. No technical knowledge required. Access credentials are provided after enrolment confirmation.

Missing 10 consecutive unjustified lessons results in automatic failure. Re-enrolment costs 25% of the previous payment. Justified absences are treated differently — contact support.

What if I need to pause my studies for a while?

Contact our support team as early as possible. Prolonged absences are assessed case by case.

📧 Contact support
What if I don't submit homework?

Missing homework for 5 consecutive days results in a 5-mark deduction on the next test, which may affect progression.

How do I justify an absence?

Inform your teacher at least 5 hours before the lesson with a valid reason.

Do I receive a certificate when I complete a level?
